Switch Tint: The Idea Behind It
What if the glass could be clear when you wanted it and dark when you did not?
Every tint decision is a compromise. Dark looks incredible and gives you privacy, but night driving and some rules push you lighter. Light is practical, but it is not the look most people want.
Switch Tint removes that compromise. It is a smart film that changes state on demand: clear one moment, dark the next, controlled instantly. Instead of choosing one shade forever, you choose it whenever you want.
The concept came out of frustration. We had installed thousands of windows and had the same conversation every week — someone wanting 5% who genuinely needed something they could see out of at night. There was no product that solved it properly, so we started building one.
The technology itself is not new in the abstract; switchable glass exists in architecture and in a handful of luxury vehicles. What did not exist was a version that could be installed cleanly into an existing vehicle, on curved glass, reliably, by a shop.
That is the problem we spent the next few years solving. This post is the start of that story, and there will be a lot more of it — including the things that did not work.
