Coming Out of COVID — and Planning a Bigger Shop
The hardest two years taught us what we wanted to build next.
COVID was difficult for us, the same way it was for every small shop in Ottawa. There were stretches where the bays were quiet, where supply of film was unpredictable, and where we genuinely did not know what the next month looked like.
What kept us going was the work we did in that quiet time. Instead of waiting, we started developing Switch Tints and we started doing residential installations. Both of those exist today because of a period where we had nothing to do but build.
Now that things have opened back up, the shop is busier than it has ever been, and it has made something obvious: we have outgrown this space. Vehicles waiting for bays, film inventory stacked where it should not be, and no clean dedicated area for the residential and product side of the business.
So the plan going forward is a bigger shop. More bays so we are not turning people away in the summer, a proper controlled space for large residential film, and room for the Switch Tint work that is growing every month.
We are not putting a date on it yet, because we would rather do it right than rush it. But that is the direction. Thank you to everyone in Ottawa who kept us busy through the worst of it — you are the reason there is a next step.
