How We Quote a Residential Job

What we ask, what we look at, and why the number is per window.

How We Quote a Residential Job

Residential quotes are per pane, not per house, because no two windows are the same size, exposure, or difficulty.

We start with photos or a site visit. What we are looking at: the size and number of panes, which direction each faces, whether they are sealed double units, how accessible they are, and what is right on the other side of the glass.

Then we talk about the goal. Heat, glare, privacy, fade protection, or appearance — they lead to different films. A west-facing living room with a fading rug and a ground-floor bathroom facing a walkway are not the same job.

Film selection follows from that. Solar film for heat and glare with minimal visual change, mirror film for very large or high-exposure glass, frost for privacy without losing light, and translucent or more transparent frost depending on how much you want to see through.

The quote covers film, labour, masking and protection of your space, and cleanup. There are no surprise line items after the fact.

Send us photos and tell us which room bothers you. That is usually enough for a real number.

Thinking about tinting?

We tint cars, homes, and businesses across Ottawa. Tell us what you need and we will give you a straight answer and a real number.
