How We Clean Glass Before Film

Ninety percent of a tint job happens before the film touches the window.

How We Clean Glass Before Film

Every complaint about tint quality traces back to prep. Specks under the film, lifting edges, haze that never clears — all of it is contamination or residue that was there before the film went on.

Our process starts with the interior. We protect door cards, seats, and electronics, because water and slip solution end up everywhere and a soaked speaker is a real risk.

The glass itself gets washed, bladed, and washed again. The critical zone is the top edge that lives inside the door when the window is up — that strip collects grit, old wax, and road film, and it is exactly where a bad install lifts first. We roll the window down and clean below the seal.

Then we check under light from multiple angles. If anything remains, it gets cleaned again. Only then does film get cut and shrunk.

It is genuinely the least glamorous part of the job and it is the part that decides whether your tint looks perfect in year five. When we quote hours instead of minutes, this is where most of those hours go.
