Ten Years of Tinting in Ottawa
From practicing on friends' cars to a product going across North America.
It started in 2016 as an idea between two childhood friends: Ottawa needed a tint shop that actually cared. We spent the next two years practicing on friends' cars, learning every window shape we could get our hands on.
In 2018 we got certified and worked in local shops to learn how the best installers work. In 2019 we opened our own. In 2020 COVID nearly stopped everything, and instead we started building Switch Tints and doing residential installations.
2022 was testing. 2023 was the first local Switch Tint installs, which made us one of the only shops in Canada doing them. 2025 turned it into a brand. 2026 brought a bigger shop, PPF and wraps, and expansion across North America.
Through all of it, the work has not changed. Clean prep, quality ceramic film, careful shrinking, and a final inspection under light before anyone gets their keys back.
Thank you to every person in this city who trusted a small shop with their car, their home, or their business. Ten years later, we are still the same two guys who think this stuff is genuinely worth doing properly.
